The 4" scale Burrell Double Compound Agricultural Engine
Available as a series of fully machined 4" scale kits, they will develop into working live steam engine for you to use, show and enjoy.
These famous, engines were manufactured by Charles Burrell and Sons at their St Nicholas Works in Thetford, Norfolk England. Our kits contain every component necessary to complete the Burrell engine.
This engine must represent the ultimate in terms of achievement for any builder. Faithful reproductions of the full size engines in miniature. They are all ‘true’ Compound engines which means that steam is first used in a high pressure cylinder and then is re-used in a low pressure cylinder.
Everything is designed for ease of construction with all components delivered in a fully machined condition ready for painting and final assembly.
All kits are shipped complete with full instructions and drawings with colour images to guide you step by step through your assembly process.
The 4" Burrell DCC Agricultural Engine consists of 28 kits.

All Steam Traction World parts supplied are fully machined ready for assembly after final de-burring, sanding and paint. Most models may be purchased over a fixed period of time with kits arriving at regular intervals to enable the customer to 'build as he/she buys'.

Each kit comes complete with full assembly instructions and isometric drawings to make everything as clear and as straight forward as possible. With hand finishing only you’ll find your kit goes together with the minimum of effort.
