Did You Know?
All our engines come as ‘fully machined kits’. They are designed to be assembled using hand tools only, such as spanners, files, Allen keys etc. No machinery (lathes, mills, welders for example) should be required as everything comes just requiring de-burring, hand finishing, fitting, assembling and painting in your choice of livery. Portable hand held tools (like a drill, grinder, power file etc) are a great help to assist with speeding up the cleaning process. All parts are supplied unpainted. Any fasteners required are also supplied.
All our boilers come fully assembled and hydraulically tested and come complete with CE mark to full European standards.
Detailed and comprehensive assembly instructions and Isometric drawings are supplied with every kit plus we also offer a full telephone and email support service to all our customers.
We estimate that each individual kit takes 20-25 hours to assemble and paint. With the average engine being 27 – 30 kits the total build time should be somewhere between 600 & 750 hours. You do get out of it what you put in so the more time spent the better the end product.
