Fancy a Steam Traction World 6″ Foden C type but don’t want to build it?
Offered for sale by our colleagues over at Legacy Vehicles is a really good example that runs beautifully and has barely been used in the last 3 years (eagle eyed readers will recognise it as the STW showroom engine). A real head turner with loads of extras added (sides, lights, displacement lubricator, etched hub caps etc). Already road registered and comes complete with a new hydraulic test & steam ticket. Only being sold as STW now have a Short Wheel Base version at the factory and a 6″ Foden trailer to tow behind it in development!

On behalf of the owners we are pleased to offer for sale this well-built and proven Steam Traction World 6″ Foden C-Type. A smartly-presented engine which has had a number of nice touches over the standard STW offering including the “Foden” engraved wheel hubs and the practical addition of electric lights which are great for evening runs home.
Since completion it has been cared for and runs very well, I think the best way to describe the engine is it gives the feeling of being really well sorted and is one we certainly would have no hesitation taking it for a day out touring the countryside. If you are looking at the Foden then you will probably know what they are capable of on the road, average speeds of 12-15mph are standard meaning you will almost certainly be the first to and back from the pub on the evening road runs at rallies!
While with us the engine has just had a thorough inspection and hydraulic with an independent boiler inspector and is reported to be in very good condition. Water feed is through a crankshaft driven pump and the reliable STW steam injector. The engine steams freely and is one you quickly get the hang of.
The Foden is road registered so ready for the new owner to jump on and enjoy straight from collection. Included in the sale is a full set of firing irons, coal, oil and a days tuition with us.
